Get Tinkering at Treacle Market, Macclesfield

Hosted by Ross Atkin

Come along and experience SHIFT’s Tinker Market, your chance to get hands on with The Crafty Robot design, and making.

Join Ross Atkin – designer and creative engineer – who created The Crafty Robot to lower the barriers for people to getting into creative making.

Ross was part of the ‘Fix Team’ on BBC2’s flagship maker-focused program ‘The Big Life Fix’ and Ross’s work has been displayed in the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year exhibition and Fast Company Magazine’s Innovation By Design Awards.

We’re heading over to Macc to join our friends at the Treacle Market, a bustling monthly market in Macclesfield’s cobbled Marketplace and streets. With around 150 stalls of unique crafts, exceptional food & drink and vintage finds. If it’s the unusual or different you seek, look no further… check out the innovative Tinker Market Stall by the Church Gates curated by SHIFT.

So come along and get tinkering!

About Treacle Market

Macclesfield is known as Treacletown, referring to the centuries old accident when a horse drawn wagon overturned, spilling its cargo of Treacle onto the cobbles. The Treacle Market is a chance to find gorgeous things on Macclesfield’s streets once again – Just less sticky!
